Ofrendas al infinito is a modular textile installation composed of beads, seashells, flowers and costume jewellery. With this work, the artist reflects on the bead as both material and subject. Considered one of the earliest forms of trade, beads carry a complex history of colonisation, commerce and slavery. At the same time, beads have long been used to express identity, cultural belonging and personal stories. Here, they enter into dialogue with materials associated with adornment, nature and exchange. Like weaving, beading is based on repetition: the continuous gesture of threading, knotting and arranging becomes a tactile and meditative process of making, sometimes alone, sometimes together.

The installation changes its form with each presentation. During beading encounters, participants can choose to take their ofrenda home or add it to the installation. The work therefore exists across different places, with parts of it dispersed among the people who have contributed to it.

The ofrendas become small gestures of care and hope — offerings for a better future.
